Island Living, a community based, not for profit organization, founded for the purpose of providing senior housing in Bird Island, Minnesota has some great news. The board of Island Living was notified in summer of 2020, that their request for a loan through the USDA Rural Development Loan Program has been approved. Island Living is proceeding with the design of a 15 unit building for assisted living and memory care for seniors to be located on land currently owned by the city south of Kibble Equipment on the west end of Bird Island.   Island Living will provide apartment style living with meals and other services for the residents. We believe Island Living will be an exciting housing choice for our seniors that will help keep them in our community close to family and friends.
